Our History |
We posted our first radio show on 8/24/2015. At that time, we just wanted to read stories to our Chinese friends who want to learn English, at the same time, we read health news from Dr. Cohen's health corner emails. We started posting a radio show almost every weekday since then, and got more and more viewers; children and adults listen from not only China, but also america who care about health. We are encouraged by our lovely viewers and the comments that they post. We created a podcast at PodOmatic early July in 2016 ( http://ericandhelenshow.podomatic.com ) and people can subscribe from iTunes now. We are excited that our audiences are from all over the world now. Within a very short time, our podcast was once ranked in top 10 at PodOmatic in the Kid/Family category. We believe that we will be able keep that record more often. After almost one year reading health related news, we learned that many chronic disease can be prevented or improved by having healthy behaviors. We will be very happy if our audience will have the same benefit that we have from listening to health news, especially young children.
We met We Care Student Organization in April 2016 and go to the Barton House, an elder center for people with alzheimer disease, to give a musical performance almost every week since then. We wish we help them feel relaxed and for them to enjoy the beautiful music. We think we share the same dream with We Care Student Organization and would like to join them. Here we found this We Care Broadcast Club. We will work together to bring awarenss of health among kids and their families, and we are excited to have more chance to promote reading and writing among young children whose second language is English. We welcome our listeners to name the books that they like to listen and even write stories for us to read. We also welcome any recommendation to make our job better. We love the support that you give us because it makes us happy and inspires us to do more. Speaking of support, our health news are mainly from Dr. Lorenzo Cohen, the director of integrative medicine in MD Anderson Cancer, who shares the news with his coworkers, friends and patients. We got our background music from a pre-music therapist in MD Anderson Cancer center, Michael Richardson, who composed this little piece of music named Tomorrow and Now for our radio show and it is played by us. We thank them very much for the supports, which keep us motivated to keep making radio shows. |
